Why Choose a Pocketed Bra?
All of our bras are pocketed to hold a prosthesis. This is to give you extra peace of mind that the prosthesis won’t fall out of the bra or show at all. Some bras have flat backed pockets which mean they are designed specifically to go straight against the chest wall where a lady has had a full mastectomy and the chest wall is flat. These bras will be available to buy with a choice of either left, right and bilateral. So if you have had partial, lumpectomy or reconstructive surgery, these styles bras will not be suitable as they will not allow room for any remaining breast.
Most of our bras are pocketed both sides. This means that you can wear them, whatever surgery type you have had. The pocket has enough material so that it can also act as a lining to the bra and can be worn on your natural side or allows for any remaining breast tissue from partial or lumpectomy surgery. This style pocket can easily be adapted into a flat back pocket if you prefer, simply by folding into a dart on the back and sewing a tiny stitch.
