Caring for Your Prosthesis
When you are not wearing your silicone prosthesis it is advisable to keep it in its original box within the plastic mould to protect. This supports the silicone and maintains its shape for longer.
Chlorine and salt water does not cause damage but corrosive cleaning agents and solvents do. Pointed or sharp objects can damage the outer skin. Avoid where possible.
Washing your prosthesis
You can wash your silicone prosthesis with mild soap by hand and pat dry with a towel.
Foam prostheses will not withstand the effects of chlorine forever and will need replacing from time to time. To prolong the life of your foam prosthesis we recommend, after every swim or washing, you remove the cover and rinse thoroughly after use.
